Description

Newly registered Shelly Eversley () has a current login in name "shellyeversely" but would like to change it to "shellyeversley." (Switched L and E at the end). Ooops! I assume this is something I cannot do myself?

You are correct that you cannot make the change. I can do it. But, to clarify, the user is not new - I see activity going back to Dec 2015. As such, changing the user login may have the side effect of breaking some incoming permalinks. Eg, if anyone linked to http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/members/shellyeversely/, those links will now 404.

Can you confirm this with the user before I make the change?

Here is her reply:

"Thanks. That's fine as long as it doesn't affect links to Faculty Fellowship Publication Program group."

Which, I've just discovered is a group that Luke is in - https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/faculty-fellowship-publication-program-ffpp/members/

Other info - she does have a correctly spelled CUNY.is link - http://cuny.is/shellyeversley

Thanks for the follow-up, Marilyn. I've made the change: https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/members/shellyeversley/

Most links are created dynamically, so will be updated automatically. I believe I've caught all the hardcoded ones, but please let Shelly know to contact us if she finds anything amiss.
