Description

I just took a look at my subscription preferences for a blog (livinglab.commons.cuny.edu) that I am subscribed to through Subscribe2, and it oddly showed me as being subscribed to blogs that I have never subscribed to. Any idea what is going on? Screenshot attached.

See #376.

Ron wrote a plugin that should prevent the subscriptions from happening automatically, but it's possible that your settings are left over from before that plugin was active. There is not an easy way for me to tell.

Ron, any insight you can share would be most helpful.

Oops, forgot to add Ron as a watcher. Ron, do you have any insight into the Subscribe2 funny business?

I don't have a username on the live site so I can't poke around. Do we have any sort of time frame for when the subscriptions were added?

No, and if I understand the way that Subscribe2 works, there's no way to tell, since the subscriptions are just kept in a simple array.

What kind of access do you need on the live site to get a sense of what's happening?

If there's no way to tell then the best we can hope for is to catch it before and after to get a rough time frame of when it happened.

Since we know we had a problem with subscribe2 before, we don't know if these happened before the other issue was resolved.

Haven't heard anything about this, so I'm closing. Please reopen if you discover another problem, and before you fix anything.

Okay. I still see the problem . . but, one note: I'm not actually receiving notifications from the blogs that it erroneously shows me as being subscribed to, while I am receiving notifications from the blogs that I did actually subscribe to. Thus, the problem may lie with the actual display of this widget on the dashboard rather than with the actual subscriptions themselves.

Example: It shows me as being subscribed to the QCGLIS blog, which I never subscribed to. I have not received notifications of new posts on that blog.

Meanwhile, it correctly shows that I subscribed to the Core I blog, and I have been receiving email notifications of new posts on that blog.
