Description

We should clean up the default page template so that it does not include the site-wide activity feed in the sidebar. See the tour page: http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/about/tour/

oops -- nevermind. I figured this out and fixed it.

Hmm. I removed "Site-Wide Activity" from the blog-sidebar widget listing, but that ruined the news page. So I put it back there, but now the tour page shows the news feed.

Not a big deal, but it should be addressed, so I'm reopening the ticket and prioritizing it as low.

I left the content width the same as it would be with a sidebar, as it got kinda hard to read when I stretched it. Let me know if you don't think it works.

Thanks, Boone. I can see what you mean about text stretching all the way across the page looking hard to read. However, right now the main text column looks a little lonely -- all of that white space in the right-hand column looks like a blank column.

What do you think of taking the following steps:

-- stretch text across the full content area
-- increase right and left padding
-- increase text size

If you tell me where the default template is stored, I'd be happy to play with this, too.

The page template is at themes/bp-nelo/page.php. You can probably make your changes with CSS, though. Try removing some of the divs (entry, post, etc). Add your CSS at themes/bp-nelo/_inc/css/custom2.css.

Thanks, Boone. It must have been on another thread that you advised me to wait a bit and come back to this in a few days. I just did, and it looks fine. Good advice and thanks for your work.
