audio file problem and request

Description
From Carolyn Stallard via Zendesk:
I'm an Instructional Designer currently helping a colleague with his Commons site, and he is having a problem opening it on Safari. He has embedded audio files, and they're all showing errors when he opens the site on Safari, but they work fine on Chrome. Is there a way to address this?
Likewise, is there a way to expand the mp3 file size limit for the site in general? One of his audio files is too big.

Please ask the user to provide the following:
- The URL of a page where this issue can be indicated
- If possible, a screenshot of the error
- Information about the operating system being used
- The size of the mp3 file the user is trying to upload

Safari has issues embedding MP3 audio files.
If possible, try to use a more, open audio format like .ogg instead of .mp3 to embed the audio file on the page. There is software to convert audio to .ogg on macOS: https://support.apple.com/en-US/guide/music/musfb0cea9fa/mac. You can also use a browser extension or a website like the following as well: https://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-ogg.
Likewise, is there a way to expand the mp3 file size limit for the site in general? One of his audio files is too big.
If the audio file is too big, you can reduce the quality of the audio file to around 64kbps in your audio software program and the filesize will be smaller. Usually, the default quality for audio files is around 128kbps or higher.
It looks like MP3s should work on Safari, so perhaps it could be due to the user's version of Safari that is the issue? We'll know more once we get some additional information that Boone requested.
Also, ignore my comments about .ogg. Although .ogg works in other browsers and is an open format, apparently .ogg does not work in Safari either.
