Description
Hi All,
A user is having issues with the constant contact plugin on this site: https://pirjournal.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
"I have been trying to link the PIR Wordpress site to constant contact because the PIR is merged with UNIMA but have not been successful. It does a very strange thing of every time I approve the connection, it sends me to a weird furniture site. I have a video of it here.
I am not sure if this is a Wordpress thing or a Constant Contact thing.
https://share.vidyard.com/watch/uN3EuFDKTzay9vYQj3FVfQ?"
I really think this is a constant contact issue, but can you all take a look to confirm? I asked her to clear her cache and try different browsers and she said it keeps happening.
I cannot recreate the issue because I don't have a login to constant contact, but you should be able to view the issue in her video above, and she sent some info from her console, attached.
Thanks!

Hi Laurie,
The Constant Contact plugin we have on the Commons hasn't been updated in eight years. It's most likely that the integration no longer works.
If the user requires Constant Contact, there is an official Constant Contact plugin that looks like it might work for the PIR Journal's needs: https://wordpress.org/plugins/constant-contact-forms/ .
Let me know if you would like us to install this for her. Boone, we should hide the older constant-contact-api
plugin from future installs since it looks like the plugin was abandoned.

Hi Ray,
Thanks for looking into this. Yes, please install the new version of the plugin on the PIR site.
Thank you!

Hi Laurie,
I've added the new Constant Contact Forms plugin -- https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/831c94ad11f4ae82775d9fc79f05c41adac342db -- and pushed the change to production. I've also activated the plugin on the PIR Journal site.
Please let the site admin know and to try connecting their Constant Contact account to the site. For a tutorial, tell the site admin to check the WP page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/constant-contact-forms/ or Constant Contact's documentation here: https://knowledgebase.constantcontact.com/email-digital-marketing/articles/KnowledgeBase/10054-WordPress-Integration-with-Constant-Contact?lang=en_US#rn_answertext .
Boone, I've also hidden the older constant-contact-api
plugin in https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/1c8f57894556fd08e6f7e6473a3efc0b0b5d8a48 , but haven't pushed the change to production.

Just an update that the new constant contact plugin is working and she was able to connect.
One other thing: she is now getting a message about disable_wp_Cron on her site, screenshot attached.
Let me know if this is something we need to address.
Thanks again!

Hi Laurie,
The DISABLE_WP_CRON
notice by Constant Contact can be ignored since we use an alternative scheduled tasks system for WordPress called Cavalcade . The Constant Contact Forms plugin is unaware of Cavalcade, but it is safe to close and ignore the notice.
