Description

I suggest we change the button on the site creation success page to take you straight to your dashboard to start editing the site rather than to go view the site (you can view the site by clicking the link in the sentence "Your site (Name) has been created." above. See Screenshot

Resurfacing this ticket, with apologies for the delay. I have notes from our April team meeting that there were concerns that new users, non-Wordpress-power-users might want/need to see the front-facing site first before being dropped into the Dashboard. Even "Wordpress people" might be used to seeing the "hello world" basic front page first.

I think the question comes down to which is better -- seeing the dashboard right away (which might be offputting or intimidating) or seeing the default home page right away (where you can't edit anything or do much else without an extra click)?

Sara also points out that it's a bit redundant to already have the link to the homepage in the "Your site 'linked site name' has been created" line, as well as a link to the homepage in the button.

Summing up our discussion on Friday, I think we are moving ahead like so:

- Change the "invite" button to say "Go to Site" and link to the actual site homepage. I think we can remove the hyperlinked site name above, as that will be redundant now, where it says, "Your site 'LINK' has been created."

- Go to Site Dashboard button stays the same, so we have the duality of going to the front-facing or backend portions of the Wordpress interface.

- Under the two buttons, add a hyperlinked line "Not sure what to do next? Check out our Wordpress Basics FAQ." that points here:

Ray, I'm hopeful this is a relatively light lift. I would do it myself but I'll be away. If it's too much, let's bump to the next release.

Ray just piggybacking, we've had this in the spring release bucket since it came up, which wasn't all that long ago. No pressure to get it done for this fall dev period, as I know you already have a lot on your plate, especially with the emails.
