Description

I followed a link to this site - https://newsclone.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ , which Colin is working on as a replacement for the CAC news site. As a non-logged-in user, I was asked to log in. Once I did, I received the attached message, saying that the site wanted to connect to local networks. Starting this ticket for this, as I haven't seen that kind of message before on the CAC

I tracked it down. It's happening because the site was imported from Sara's local, where she'd used the Site Editor to upload Poppins as a custom font. WP is remembering the .local path to the uploaded font. But this is not present at a URL path, and so the browser is trying to fetch it from local storage of some sort, which is what's prompting the request.

I think that a proper fix is to reload the Poppins font. Once Sara's back in-pocket, perhaps she can go into the Site Editor (Styles > Typography), remove the old version of Poppins, and re-upload.

To make this problem go away for the time being, I've run a search-replace to remove these "local" URLs. The Poppins font requests still fail, but at least you won't see the message.

Going to reassign this to Sara for when she's back and able to take a look.

I've gone ahead and re-installed the Poppins font on the newsclone.commons.gc.cuny.edu site.

Is anyone still getting the error or is this fixed? I can't replicate it
