CUNY Academic Commons

I came across an issue when trying to read the Academic Commons Team Forum. Boone added me as a member to the group and as I tried to open a forum topic, I was launched to a fail safe page. I'm given the option to leave the group so I'm definitely a member of the Cuny Academic Commons Team group, but it says there are no forum topics because the group is private? I've attached a screen shot.

I tried to clear the cache thinking maybe that was the issue but to no avail.

Is there any way to resolve this? Specifically, do admins simply need to approve new members to read forums?
