Description

Hi Boone,

Can you please clone http://gcdi.commons.gc.cuny.edu to a new site? the URL can be gcdidev.commons.gc.cuny.edu (not yet created)

Many thanks for your help with this.

  • Status changed from Assigned to Resolved
  • Target version set to Not tracked

I've created https://gcdidev.commons.gc.cuny.edu, and set its privacy level to admins-only.

In order to make the clone work, I had to delete a row from the database. The "rotatingtweets-cache" option appears to have been used at one time by the rotatingtweets plugin to store the results of a Twitter API query. In the case of this site, the option was larger than our mysql max_allowed_packet setting, such that the clone process could not complete. It looks like the option is not used by rotatingtweets anymore, so I don't think it will do any harm that it's not there any more. That said, I have saved the value so that it can be restored if necessary.

Let me know if there are any issues.

Thanks so much, Boone. At first glance, this looks great. We will let you know whether we notice any wonkiness.

I think that Dom did a fair amount of custom coding to get that rotating tweets plugin to work. Do you think that we should delete that option from the production site? Could it be slowing down page loads?

I don't know. The option doesn't have any cached tweets since 2014, so I'm guessing it's not being loaded at all. I would suggest not touching it, if it's not causing any obvious problems.
