Description

Hi Scott,

Do we have any documentation on the site of the calendar embed shortcode discuss here: https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/4908

If not, can you add something to the Codex (or wherever) on this?

If so, can you point me to the link?

Thanks.

Boone and Ray -- can you please describe how to use the plugin created here -- https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/4908 ?

It looks like the plugin is network activated, but I don't see any place for users to interact with it. If a user wanted to embed a group calendar on a page or post, how would they do it?

Instructions are here:
https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/4908#note-5

However, #4908 is marked for the 1.10 milestone, so that functionality isn't available in 1.9.x. In 1.9.x, only the group calendar widget is available.

We could backport the shortcode to 1.9.x if we want.

Thanks, Ray. I saw those instructions but I was confused, as the issue was resolved but I didn't see any place to activate the Activate the "Group Events Shortcode and Widget" plugin

I see no reason not to release this ASAP and then to include it in the announcement of our next feature release.

Let's do this in 1.10 and make sure we have our ducks in a row with documentation. Scott, https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/4908#note-5 can be cribbed for any docs.

Scott, can you follow up to let us know whether this is done?

It looks like this exists https://codex.commons.gc.cuny.edu/embed-calendars-sites/ so I'm closing the ticket.
