blog emails still being sent with bad links
Added by Jill Cirasella almost 8 years ago.
Updated almost 8 years ago.
Description
(I just accidentally added this to the old, resolved issue, and am just now remembering to submit it as a new one. Sorry for the duplication.)
Oh drat! It is with a heavy heart that I report that...the library blog is still sending email notifications with bad blog post links! Email notifications actually didn't seem to go out at all for the blog posts from Monday and last Wednesday, which was odd, but one did go out today, and it had bad links again. Both http://gclibrary.commons.gc.cuny.edu/?p=158981 and http://wp.me/p3H0YH-Fmd led to the 404 page. PDF of email attached. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks! Jill

Thanks for the report, Jill. It appears that items are still being syndicated to the sitewide-tags blog, even though the plugin is deactivated. I'm going to remove it from the system altogether.

I've removed the plugin. Let's hold onto this ticket and see if things are fixed on the next newsletter.
I think you did it!!!
An email just went out announcing this blog post:
https://gclibrary.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2016/12/15/spring-2017-reserves/
...and all the links in the email worked!
I'll be 100% confident everything is ok if all is well for the next two posts too. (In the past, the problem has been spotty, not totally constant.) But it's looking good! Thank you!
Great news, Jill! Please update when you've sent out a few more messages - I'll keep this ticket open for the time being.
We've had a few more blog posts, and we can now state with confidence that the link problem is fixed!
Also, we've edited a few category designations of old posts, and that hasn't prompted those posts to be re-emailed. So that problem seems to be fixed too.
Thanks so much!
