Description

Seeing an issue where I put a forum post up, the post goes through (it's visible in the forum and on the group page in new tabs), but the forum page where I put the post up is loading... I still have the submit button on the post and the page looks hung there. seeing on https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/cac-community-team-project-planning/forum/topic/manage-invites-2-of-2/ and https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/coursetest/forum/topic/test-post-15/, both Chrome and Safari. Could be my rig but thought it was worth a report to see if anyone else was running into this...

  • Status changed from New to Hold

This issue seems to be resolved... forum post submission successfully refreshed page. Changing to HOLD, however; I'm curious why running of out storage space -- as Lihua noted was explanation for https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/8412 -- would manifest in this way.

Operations like new forum posts can be pretty resource intensive. For example, inserting new content into a MySQL database could require rebuilding indexes, or use of temporary tables, or something like that. MySQL uses the system temp directory (/tmp in our case) for these sorts of operations. So it's possible that something like this was taking place.

As this ticket seems to be solved due to server issues that have been addressed by IT, I'm going to close it out.
