Description
We've discussed whether we should update the default text/graphics one sees when first logging in and seeing the Commons dashboard, where My Sites / My Groups will be empty (see screenshot attached). We could also add or substitute a popup that appears upon first login, explaining further how to add/sites groups and populate the dashboard, but the user could dismiss that once and never see it again so it might not be enough on its own.

Here is a modal that we can pop up when a user logs into the commons for the first time.
Here's the welcome modal with the updated wording
When I sign up on cDev, I do not get this prompt when I first login after activation. Is this still in the works?

It hasn't been built yet. Ray, can you take point on this?
Hi Ray, have you been able to take a look at this? Hopefully it's something that can be worked in around all of the high-priority server migration tasks right now.
I've committed a first pass of the first login modal in https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/c5fc50534e2f3b218f57d14f3e2d6d455f080849. I've attached a screenshot. This is also available for testing on cdev as well. Be sure to do a hard refresh to purge your browser's CSS and test at various mobile breakpoints.
For now, the modal will appear all the time during testing. However for the actual release, will we only show this login modal when a user lands on the Commons logged-in homepage for the first time and only for newly-registered members with a registration date of Jan 2025 (our tentative release timeframe)?
Thanks Ray, this is looking good to me, and that sounds right about showing the modal only if both of those two things are true for a user.
Just a quick copy change, when you can: for the titles Find a Site and Make a CV, make the a lowercase for both.
