Description

The interface for inviting people to groups could be a little clearer. For instance, let's say I invite 10 people to a group, and only 2 join. The other eight remain in the list of invited people. If I then decide that I want to invite five more people, I have to add them to that list and then click "send invites." Does that then re-email the people who already responded, or does it only send the invite to the new invitees? We should consider some way to make the status of people on that list already clearer, and perhaps add some contextual info ("Send invitations to newly added members," for example

Also, I think we should consider moving the "Send Invites" button to a better place -- perhaps just under the list of members or at the top of the list of invited people.

The other thing that I wonder about is whether the invites are sent when people are added to the list or only when "send invites" is clicked.

Re your last question: It's complicated. BuddyPress creates an invitation-type object when the user is added to the list (that's why they remain there if you leave the page and then come back) but I don't think there's any way for the invited member to accept the invitation until after "Send Invites" is clicked. So the short answer is that, for all intents and purposes, they invites are only sent when "Send Invites" is clicked.

Adding contextual text, as you suggest, seems like a good catch-all solution for your first paragraph. But if you also want to have some sort of status marker for members to whom invites have been sent, please open a separate ticket for this distinct feature.

If you'd like 'Send Invites' moved, or duplicated, please file a separate ticket for it. (Sorry to be nitpicky - it's hard to manage tasks when they're lumped together.)
